SUMMER SAFETY TIPS FOR BABY
Summer is just around the corner, along with your favorite fruits and fun-in-the-sun activities. Temperatures around the country will soon climb into the 30C and soon 40C.
Newborns are especially susceptible because they can't tell you when they are getting too hot; your baby relies on you to keep them cool and hydrated. It may seem obvious, but the dangerous impact of high heat on babies is staggering.
Here are some tips for keeping your newborn cool and safe from the potential dangers of summer heat.
** Enjoy cold water and cool towels
Always make your baby hydrated by making him drink enough water. For long trip carry extra water, small ice cooler bag, or chilly Pad cooling towels.
** Keep a sun hat
Light weight baby hat can protect them from harmful sunburn. Don't rush baby from AC to outer hot environment as sudden change in body temperature can cause fever and cold. Keep them away far from fans so that gentle and soft air flows through them.
** Create Summer Survival Kit
Always carry few things in your purse for baby like water, icepacks, Benadryl, hats and sunglasses, insect repellent.
