Principles for good parenting

Being parents, everyone wants their child to be well mannered and well behaved. Now a day parenting is an unbelievably a big challenge but is the best reward of one's life with a huge responsibility of bringing up their children in the best possible way.

1.    Your kid resembles you:

This is one of the most important principles. What you do matters, either it's your own health behavior or the way you use to treat other people, your children are learning each and every from what you do.

2.    Stay involved in your kid's life:

Generally kids are always our first priority. So be involved in your kid's life. It simply means that? sacrifice what you want to do for what your child wants to do. Be there mentally as well as physically.

3.    Respect your kids:

Kid's reactions are so different from us. Their demands may be crazy demands and have out-of-the-blue tantrums. They may lack of social etiquette and rude remarks. But it doesn't mean they deserve less respect. As mentioned in 1st point, watch your tone of voice and ask yourself if you would treat another person this way. Stay calm and be polite and make your kid understand what is good and what is bad.

4.    Embrace your child's temperament:

It's not always that your personality may be same as like your child's personality. So best way is to accept their temperament and learn the ways to tap into it rather than trying to change it.

5.    Adapt parenting according to your kid:

Adapt your parenting to fit your child. Keep pace with your child's development. Your child is growing up. Consider how age is affecting the child's behavior.

6.    Discuss emotions:

Kids aren't born with an understanding of emotions. They don't even know the names of these emotions. It's you who help them by discussing emotions at appropriate times, complete with names.

7.    Discipline without anger:

Anger is imprudent and one of the most complicated emotions to go through. Parents should never hit their child under any circumstances. Disciplining your child without anger also shows that you're on the same side of your kid. You are helping your child to manage his emotions and not trying to win.

8.    Use examples to teach:

You can teach your kids whatever you want like values, habits, language, etc. All you need to do is just name it the learning activity. For example computer time, pick up a book, game or project instead of the screen. Your kid will learn that values and habits easily.

9.    Too much love is harmful:

It's not possible to spoil a kid with love but too much love can definitely spoil your kid.

10. Don't compare your Kids with other:

Don't let comparisons get you too riled up. It's natural to compare but sometimes comparisons demoralize the kids. Just note the comparison, try to help to your kid to improve and move on. Usually Kids development occurs at different times and mostly always turns up just fine in the end.

11. Make a set of rules:

Manage your child's behavior when he is young, as it will be hard for him to learning how to manage himself when he'll be older. You should always be aware of answers these three questions: Where is my child? Who is with my child? What is my child doing? The rules your child has learned from you are going to shape the rules of his life.?

12. Be consistent:

If you keep changing your rules frequently in an unpredictable manner it will leads your child to misbehave in confusion and for this misbehavior you will be responsible. To avoid the confusion the most important disciplinary tool is consistency, so be consistent. The more your influence is based on perception and not on power, the less your child will challenge it.

13. Promote your child's independence:

Setting limitations helps your child develop a sense of self-discipline and self-control. Encouraging independence helps them to develop a sense of self-direction. To be successful in life, they need have both.

14. Encourage and Praise effort:

Encourage and Praise kids for something they can control and improve such as studying for an exam, for not giving up on a puzzle or practicing hard. Your little encouragement will boost up their confidence and' they will work harder.

15. Let kids struggle:

May be watching your kid struggling is difficult and awkward. But let them struggle because when you solve your kids' problems, you deny the opportunity for them to create solutions. So instead of solving their problems, given them a chance to solve it. It helps them to learn and develop new skill and feel proud of themselves.
